Located in Costa Mesa, Heritage Mercantile Co. is a beautiful shop featuring unique, handmade goods. The space is fresh and has a warm, eclectic vibe that makes you feel right at home.
I first came across Heritage Mercantile Company when venturing up to Costa Mesa to try Sidecar Doughnuts (I'd recommend the trip, they're delicious). Located just across the street from the delicious treat purveyor, Heritage Mercantile Co. is housed in a unique, ivy-covered storefront. The structure has some serious curb appeal, and instantly draws you in.
The inside of the store is just as beautiful, with white wood-paneled walls giving the space an authentic, vintage feel. The shop is beautifully merchandised, with thoughtful additions (such as vintage tapestries, globes, stag-horn ferns and found paintings) that take this boutique beyond the normal bounds of retail. Heritage Mercantile Co stocks a variety of products, ranging from unique accessories to kidswear to home goods. The array of products are unique and fun to explore.
I personally love the Turkish linens carried in the shop. The color ways available are beautiful, crafting a light and airy aesthetic. The size and material are perfect for the California lifestyle, easily packed away for picnics and beach days. These French Market Totes also caught my eye, as I love the soft tonal palette. The concept is simple and perfect for grabbing up groceries, but can easily be elevated for a night out. You also can't beat that price point.
Heritage Mercantile is also a space for gathering and creativity. The shop hosts classes and events, such as the upcoming macramé class with Kaysie Condron of Little Feral. Paired with sips and treats, the event sounds like a dream. If you're in the area on August 25, it's a fantastic opportunity to learn this decorative craft.
