Owned and designed by Julie Rais Ellis, Rais Case features practical and creative goods made from the highest quality materials. In what began as a personal project to create the perfect computer case, Rais Case now includes purses, clutches, backpacks, keychains and so much more. Ellis utilizes beautiful shades of leather that age and change with time, along with patterned fabrics and fringe--helping you and your bag to truly stand out.
Located in Oceanside along S. Coast Highway, Rais Case shares a space with Mr. B's Necessities and 5ing Goods. The unique space, entitled "The Work/Shop" allows and encourages visitors to participate by creating their own personalized pieces. Mr. B's Necessities offers workshops and classes in candle working and soap making, while Rais Case offers an entire DIY table. This concept is one of my favorite aspects of Rais Case. Visitors can create their own custom leather keychain, luggage tag, or ear phone wrap--hand-stamped with your initials and/or symbols. All of this is offered within the reasonable price range of $1 to $4--providing everyone with a bit of Rais Case, no matter the budget.
Rais Case utilizes unique, vintage fabrics in their designs--making each piece one of a kind. One of my favorite bags is amongst the latest Spring collection, The Tayler Messenger in Indigo. This beautiful, but simple, style allows for the perfect amount of storage when expanded--yet can be folded down for a sleeker look. The indigo dyed shibori fabric is simple enough to fit into any wardrobe, yet clearly makes a statement.
Julie Rais Ellis has built an inspiring and exciting business, filled with innovation and creativity. Be sure to check out Rais Case at 1834 S. Coast Highway.
